I’ll be away from my garden for a little while soon. And it’s the time of year when new things are happening in the garden daily. The Ceanothus blooms are just beginning to pop, our Trachelospermum is going to burst into bloom any day, and the first of the rose buds has colored up. I’m going to be visiting some beautiful gardens while I’m away that I’ll write about here, but there’s something especially difficult about leaving your own garden at this time of year. After spending a great deal of time carefully orchestrating the plant combinations and timing, missing out on what’s about to happen feels a bit like stepping out of a movie for a restroom or snack and missing a critical and exciting plot point.
So I spent some time today taking photos of where we are now so I’m not missing out on what’s currently happening. I’ll do the same again when I return to see where we are then, and by that point I expect I’ll be filled with inspiration from my trip…
See you when I return!
FOMO, it’s real! Hope you have fun wherever it is that you’re going…. and your garden is looking splendid!
Thank you! Although I’ll be missing out here, I do get to see Chanticleer (!) so it’s not all bad.
